Default How do I get my new Character to Prophecies

Hi all. Newbie here.

Me and my Gf have just bought copies of the 'complete' game and after spending a night in prophecies and a night in nightfall, we've decided to play the game from prophecies. Only problem is I like the look of the ranger I created in nightfall ( i know I can quickly start another one, but kind of got attached already ! ) Is there anyway I can get my ranger from nightfall to prophecies ? I know there is a ferry, but is this only available to non-prophecies professions ?

The beginner area of Prophecies is not available to non-Prophecies characters as it is a time, not a place.

You can transfer between campaigns as soon as you can access a port city. These are Kamadan, Kaineng Center and Lion's Arch.

You can change how your character looks as soon as you reach Lion's Arch also. At that point clicking on M for map will also show you a boat icon. That icon will give you a choice of places that includes the Temple of Balthazar where there is a Makeover NPC. You can purchase credits from the in-game store to change how your character looks.

Yeah, you can get a ferry from Kamadan to the Consulate Docks, then wait for another ferry (person) to take you to Lion's Arch in Prophecies, but you can't start at the very beginning of Prophecies as a foreign character.

To start at the very beginning of Prophecies requires you to start as a Prophecies character, as it's in the past/another point in time.

If you wish to play to-gether all the time then both make a char at same time.allbeit a diff profession in the same campaign .This way you both can play as 1 in all the quests missions ect.

If you both have them from differnet campaigns and wish to join up then as above posts have advised .port city to cross travel between continents and join.

Just be aware that if you do this any camaign you cross over to your partner has to be at the area ..like Lions arch for example for you to join up with her/him. as you seem to wish prophecies.or you have to run back to Ascalon Or wherever she is further back in Prophecies to meet her /him its not that hard tho

Pre searing if you are there you can be both to-gether all the time as an example....On secondary choices just say to guy I wish more time to think about it, this way you can do every secondary profession then when all done just then select your preferred secondary.

So enjoy your play to-gether and enjoy Guild Wars

There isn't a way to do that, the most you can do is start a Nightfall character and then get a ferry to Lion's Arch and pick the storyline there. But you'll miss a large chunk of the prophecies storyline and there's somethings you won't be able to do with your girlfriend, especially quests.

However, if you're willing, you can create a prophecies character, play the game normally with her and when you reach Lion's Arch you can travel to the Battle Islands. There is a makeover NPC that allows to you change your character's look to the nightfall look you want, for a fee. I believe something between 10-15 USD will buy you 5 makeover credits, that is, allows you to change your character's look 5 different times.

You can, but in proph you'll miss out in pre searing, but that's nothing too exciting.

Get to Consulate and get ferried to LA.

Then from LA get to ascalon and pick up there

Yes you can get from Nightfall to Prophecies, and all the way back through the storyline to where your GF will arrive when she leaves the academy after a couple of hours of her playing the game alone. HOWEVER, to be honest, if you want to play together even through the very first few hours of the game, your best bet is to make a Prophecies ranger.

If you decide to try getting your Nightfall ranger to Prophecies so you can play together ASAP -

(a) your GF will have to play through the first part (levels 1-5 or so) of the Prophecies storyline on her own, as the very first few quests are in a special area separated from the rest of the storyline. Once she goes into the academy, she'll wind up in a different version of Ascalon City, in a part of the game you can meet up in and play together.

(b) you will need to choose one of the following two options:
(i) Play through the starter island part of the Nightfall storyline on your own (levels 1-17 or thereabouts) in order to get your heroes and your sunspear rank up to a decent level ready for the part of the Nightfall storyline where you'll be able to play together, which will take you to the Consulate Docks mission, where you can play through the quest to take you to Lion's Arch in Prophecies and fight your way to Ascalon to meet your GF; or,
(ii) Do the first mission on the starter island so that you get to Kamadan, then pay for a player to ferry you to the Consulate Docks mission in Nightfall, where you can pay for a player to ferry you to Lion's Arch in Prophecies, where you can pay for a player to run you to Ascalon to meet your GF.
Option (i) is free but is likely to take you a couple of days to do, as it'll be your first time through the game and you'll have a lot to learn; option (ii) will take an hour or so at most but will cost you upwards of 1500g, unless you get lucky, which is a lot more money than you're likely to have access to as a new player.

Additionally, whilst you'll be able to accompany her as she goes through the Prophecies storyline, the pre-Lion's Arch quests are only available to Prophecies characters so you won't get any of the quest rewards (free skills) and won't see any quest markers on your map. If you got a runner then when you go back to Nightfall together, she won't get any of the quest rewards or see any of the quest markers on her map if you decide to do your starter island quests before going to the mainland together.
